Tutoring
English and Drama tutor from GCSE to Degree Level
"Emma’s tuition was constructive and helpful, but above all it was enjoyable. I was never bored, and even during the times when my concentration was less than adequate she always managed to get me back on track and working hard again. Her tuition was instrumental in my achievement of an A grade in English Literature, and I thoroughly recommend her to any English student out there, struggling or not."
Milo Craig, Year 13 English A-Level Student
Educated to Master's level in English and contemporary culture, and to degree level in Drama and Theatre I can tutor right through from GCSE to degree stage. I have particualr expertise in helping with essay writing and degree level study, and work with a number of students on a regular basis to improve their writing style - helping them develop good essay structures, form cohesive arguments and write in an engaging way. I also tutor a couple of students throughout their degrees, setting texts and essay questions for them, conducting seminars and feedback, helping them develop their crtitical analysis and writing style.
I am an intelligent, patient, thoughtful and generous tutor, with a solid and thorough knowledge of my subjects, as well as a passion for them.
It's hugely important to have outside input when you are studying for exams, or writing coursework, as this gives you a fresh perspective and ensures your experience of the subject doesn't get stale. I love English and Theatre and will happily work with you to ensure you excel where you need to, and discover a passion and an enthusisam for your subjects, which will help the learning immeasurably.
I am available to tutor up to degree level, and can travel within London or tutor at my own home for which there would a reduction in the hourly tutoring cost. Call for more info: 0207 916 8439 or email: tutor@emmamills.com
